The InforSense BioWorkflow Competition
Competition purpose:
The bio-workflow competition is aiming at building innovative and novel workflow with scientific and technical soundness to address real problem in life science R&D.
- Competition introduction:
To leave space for the contestants’ creativity and innovation, we would not set up any specific theme; rather we would accept all workflows in all aspects of bioinformatics including target discovery and validation, lead discovery and optimization, pre-clinical and clinical sciences, DMPK toxicity and bio-marker identification.
- Competition requirement:
A specification of the submitted workflows for the competition is offered in the document name as “Specification_of_Workflows”. This competition will be judged by a panel of bioinformatics experts who will assess your submission of your workflow application based on the following criteria:
- Quality and Significance of scientific and/or technological problem being addressed
- Appropriateness and elegance of the bio-workflow solution
- Scientific and Technical soundness
- Quality of results and Presentation
- Innovation and Novelty

InforSense will host a workshop in Nansha on August 31,2007 in InCoB2007--- INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON BIOINFORMATICS(HongKong-Hanoi-Nansha) After the workshop, a list of qualified trainees will be selected to enter the formal competition. InforSense will provide in-depth training to the qualified participants. Training topics include workflow methodology, and how to implement sophisticated analysis in InforSense KDE and related products via web-based training, which will be finished before 1st October,2007. The participants of the competitions should submit their workflow and related documents before 30th June,2008. The result of the competition will be announced before 30th August,2008.
During the competition period, InforSense will provide InforSense KDE and related product license to the participates. The license enables you to carry out the exercises in the workshop, demonstrate workflow technology for your colleagues in your institute and conduct research based analysis.
